Minimum Quantity:	1 pcs Note: Laser engraving requires various setting to get a good result. Although ‘benchmark’ settings are applied for the specific material, sometimes 3 or 4 tests are required on the product. It is strongly recommended to supply a ‘spare’ item for us to perform tests, to ensure your required item turns out correctly.
Product requirements:	Please note there are limitations to what we can engrave. Max Product Size: 610mm W 450mm H 358mm D. Laser engraving a ‘one off’ can be a bit risky as different settings are required for different types of leather, as such, we will only offer this as a site visit. We cannot guarantee that a single item will achieve optimal results as usually we use one item to perform multiple tests to establish optimal settings. Our laser sits 13mm above the flat surface, this means height of the total product cannot be more than 13mm from the flat surface WITHIN 60mm of the engrave area. We MAY be able to push this out slightly, however the further away the laser is to the surface will result in less sharpness and a darker branding. We can only laser engrave on flat surfaces. Although a slight bevel MAY be workable, difference in the laser branding may be noticeable due to the difference in height. Engraving may have different results on a batch of products, for example: As wood is a natural product, wood type and ‘knots’ can result in varying results when laser engraved. Parts of your design MAY look darker or engraved deeper for example. There are many different grades of leather.. different engraving depths may be required and may leave a charred residue depending on depth of engraving

Leather The stronger the engraving or ‘darkening’ of laser engraving on leather can cause ‘charring’ This charring can smudge if rubbed. For this reason we only recommending light engraving on leather. Glass FLAKING: the larger the area of 'solid' engraving, the greater the chance of ‘flaking’. Flaking basically means a very thin glass shard breaks away from the top layer of the glass. See below notes for BEER GLASSES Plastics* Only certain plastics can be engraved. Rubber
Beer Glasses:	The following applied to client supplied beer glasses: $55 set up fee is required for beer glasses. There is no guarantee that we will be able to achieve good results on models we have not tested. This means if you want to supply a beer glass, minimum of 2 pcs is required (as one will likely be damaged throught the setup procedure.) We will not take tapered, handled or thin walled glasses. The thicker the glass, generally the better the result. Please send through link to glass before purchasing. The only glass that does not require $55 setup (and that we have done many of) is the Libbey Classic Can Tumbler Glasses We MAY have these in stock

Specific Artwork Requirements:

The following is the 'print ready' artwork requirements. These are to ensure a quality result and efficiency in processing time.
If you cannot supply the artwork print ready, we charge from $36 to correct your artwork . Please email through artwork for a formal quote.

General Artwork Notes:

Safe Area: 5mm within

Must be vector artwork - If you only have PNG or JPG files, these type of file formats are pixel based and not editable and will need to be converted.
100% black - no white or other colours (other than photos which need to be assessed first)
Minimum artwork thickness = 0.17mm - If this requirements are not met, engraving may not show.
Minimum gap inbetween artwork = 0.5mm - If this requirements are not met, engraving may join together.
Solid only (convert stroke to outlines)
All fonts must be converted to 'outlines', or 'curves' (or supply fonts)

Supply as:

PDF format - using PDF-X1A to flatten any transparency etc.
If you order has multiple kinds (artwork with different people / artwork). The job need to be supplied as separate files.
e.g. if the order is for 5 kinds, there should be 5 x PDF files supplied (note above file layout).

IF you have variable engraving (multiple products that require different number / name):

All above rules apply
Supply as multipage PDF with each page containing the different variable requirements (+ any other logoes / text etc).
For Example, if you need 10 x items, you should proivide us a document with 10 x pages
Each page should look how each item should turn out when engraved.

What is Vector?

Vector artwork allows us to edit elements to ensure it will print correctly. For example, If you have a background photo with a logo on top, if the logo is in a vector format, we can adjust the print settings to ensure your logo will print as close to the intended colours as possible.

Generally vector artwork is within .AI, .SVG, .EPS, .PDF files. You can tell if artwork is vector by zooming in 6,000%. If it pixelates, it is NOT in a vector / editable format.
If it 'redraws' or consists of the same quality, the artwork has been made in a vector fomat.
PNG or JPG are Bitmap files (made from pixels) and are NOT vector / editable.
Photoshop cannot create vector artwork, Illustrator can.

What’s the reason for so many artwork requirements?

Hands down, if you want quality, it starts with quality artwork. Many people do not consider how colour on screen translates to ink on paper. Rich Black is the perfect example. Using too much CMY with K can cause a muddy brown result. This is because there is simply too much ink going onto the card. The different card products we offer use different CMYK values to create the best rich black for the specific card.
